Pastor Mark, his wife (Tara), and their children (Markus and Belle) came to Lubeck UMC in July 2009.  A native of Athens, Ohio, and Ripley, WV, Mark is thrilled to back home in the Mid-Ohio Valley.  He received his bachelor's degree from West Virginia Univeristy in 2003, his Master of Divinity at Methodist Theological School in Ohio in 2007, and participated in doctoral studies in worship at the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies in Orange Park, Florida, in 2008.  Mark has served in music, youth, and pastoral ministry in The United Methodist Church since 1999, serving churches in Ohio and West Virginia.  In his spare time, he enjoys investing time in family, reading, performing and attending live theater, and writing and performing music.   The Parsons family also includes three critter kids:  Rusty Bear (a toy poodle), Teddy Bear (a cockapoo),  and Kokomo (a parakeet).

Loretta Ash
Secretary

Loretta Ash lived in Clarksburg area until 1990 when she moved to Parkersburg.  She worked for the Boy Scouts of America for 35 years and has now been serving as church secretary since January 2007.  She has been a member of the Lubeck UMC for 11 years. Loretta enjoys serving her church and the people of the community.


Susan Kelby
Director of Music

Susan Kelby comes to Lubeck UMC from Christ Church UMC, Marietta, where she and her family have attended for over three years.  Susan's love for church music is made evident in her enthusiasm and experiences in working with choral and instrumental groups of all ages in a variety of church settings.  In addition to sharing her gifts in the church, Susan is involved in music  in local community theater groups and volunteers at Muskingam Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Susan, her husband Jeff, and their daughter Robin are happy to be joining the Lubeck UMC family!


Harry and Joann Snyder
Church Custodians

Harry and Joann are the ones responsible for making our church look so beautiful!  Aside from their ministry of service as our custodians, they are involved in the JOY Sunday School class (where Joann teaches once a month) and the Parkersburg South Gideons.  Joann is a former Lubeck UMC treasurer, faithfully serving for 11 years.  Harry is the current chair of trustees and treasurer for United Methodist Men.  Joann's hobbies include decorating, crafts, and writing skits for church programs.  Harry enjoys gardening and church upkeep and maintenance.


Keith Mayer
Youth Director

Keith Mayer has served as our Youth Director since 2007.   He previously served as Youth Director from 1991-1994.  He has been a member of Lubeck UMC since 1990.  Aside from leading youth, he has  been involved in leading a small group Bible study since 1999 and has taught various age groups.  Keith currently teaches the senior high class.  He works as a chemical engineer at Kraton and enjoys working with Boy Scouts, hiking, biking, and camping.
